X-Ray Tube Museum

While it might seem a little obscure, a museum for x-ray tubes actually exists.

The Opole University of Technology in Poland houses a remarkable collection of x-ray tubes and associated equipment used with x-rays. They have tubes related to all aspects of x-ray analysis including medical, industrial, security, XRD and XRF as well as apparatus, parts, literature and photos relating to all these field.

The collection of x-ray tubes includes examples from many manufacturers, several of whom no longer exist. AXT has donated some pieces to the museum that we thought were of historical significance.

So if you are in the area, or have a genuine fascination with x-ray tubes, you should visit the museum.

AXT Pty. Ltd. has recently launched a new website dedicated to their x-ray tube business. This new website is located at www.axtxraytubes.com and focuses on replacement x-ray tubes for analytical, industrial and medical applications.

AXT has been involved in the x-ray tube market since their inception in 1991 when they became the first manufacturer in the world to offer refurbished side window x-ray tubes for XRF spectrometers. Since that time, AXT’s x-ray tube business has flourished and they now supply x-ray tubes from various manufacturers for a range of applications including x-ray diffraction (XRD), x-ray fluorescence (XRF), non-destructive testing (NDT) including baggage inspection, all the way to medical.
